Nutrisystem Meatballs in Marinara Sauce

People who love Italian cuisine do not need an introduction about the dish known as Meatballs in Marinara Sauce. Sadly, it packs more than 260 calories per serving which is too much for the calorie conscious. Also, a whopping 55% of the energy comes from its fat content that directly adds up to your waistline. Nutrisystem has improvised this recipe so much that you only get 150 cals with minimal fat content (7.0g of fat). This is also one of my personal favorites, and I eat it at least once a week. And it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy it. I use a Nutrisystem coupon code.

What are the ingredients?

The cooked meatballs are made up of ground beef, bread crumbs, spices and textured soy flour. The liquid part is formed by tomato puree, onions and other veggies including celery and onion. Other ingredients include olive oil, beef stock concentrate, corn starch, sugar, corn oil, maltodextrin, yeast starch, sugar and sea salt.

Preparation Method:

Cut the pouch at its top and place it in a microwave. Heat it at maximum power for about 40 seconds until the ingredients become warm. Now pour the contents into a bowl. The heating time may vary from one microwave oven to another. Your Meatballs in Marinara Sauce is ready to eat. This dish tastes best with whole grain rolls or rice. I prefer the former which I eat at least once a week.

What does it taste like?

The cooked beef tastes great while the marinara sauce has a sweet-and-sour effect inside your mouth. Also, the dish has just the right amount of spices. Eat it with whole grain rolls for dinner, and trust me, you won’t feel hungry for 6 to 7 hours. I personally like to throw in some more veggies into the sauce. The first time I tried it, I spread the sauce inside a sub. The sauce nicely soaked up the bread which was very fulfilling.

The Meatballs in Marinara Sauce is safe for diabetics. It has high protein content (14g per each serving) has very little carbohydrates and a negligible quantity of sugar. Nutrisystem has once again proved that you don’t need to sacrifice your favorite foods when you are on a weight-loss diet. If you are a big fan of Italian cuisine like me, you should include this recipe in your diet plan. I personally feel that it comes very close to a restaurant-style meatballs-in-sauce minus all the extra fat. In fact, some of my friends who tried it couldn’t figure out that it is a part of a diet plan.
